2008 Accomplishments/2009 Goals
For the past few years I’ve been working with a book called “Life Makeovers” that gives you weekly assignments to get your life on the track you’d like it to be or at least shake you up enough to realize what areas you’d like to change or improve in. Every year my favorite assignment is Week 1 where you make a list of 25 accomplishments you’ve made over the past year. I love looking back on the areas I feel proud in and displaying those with confidence. You should never be ashamed of those. If you do, you will never accomplish great things because you are pushing yourself down. No one is going to be your superhero, you have to do it. So put those fears away and start celebrating what you’ve done in 2008. If you do, more good things are bound to come your way in 2009!
The next assignment, which is my own “add-on” is to make a list of 25 “goals” so to speak that you’d like to accomplish in the next year. Now, I don’t know about you, but when I hear the word goal, I think of something huge like climbing Mt. Everest or getting a promotion. While your goals can most certainly be these, they can also be the “goals” we all just take for granted or never really focus on. I will not call them small because they are only small if you call them that. Such examples are ”Take more photographs” or “Make it a point to smile at the receptionist”. See, they don’t have to be so difficult? Anything that is pulling at your heart strings or telling you this is something you’d like to do or work on, write it down.
Do not feel trapped to write a maximum of 25. Write to your heart’s content. What the universe hears it delivers right back to you.
Well, there are a lot of things I accomplished in 2008 but some of them are small-scale but I think I deserve credit for it because I put in a lot of effort for it.
I have my final exams starting Jan 13, this is the biggest step in my career. If I clear them, I’ll be working as a full-fledged doctor from March. Hoping for the best.
Take care.
Merry Christmas!
